Intiwawa

Hi, I’m Nicky - the heart behind Intiwawa.

Intiwawa, meaning “Sun Child” in Quechua (the language once spoken by the Inca), is a dream come true -  a way to bring a small part of the love and culture I’ve received from my Peruvian mother to my home in Germany. It allows me to honour my roots while following my passion to help and create small, meaningful change in the world.

Rooted in Peruvian tradition, Intiwawa celebrates the beauty of hand-knitting, as both an art form and a piece of living heritage. Together with my wonderful mum Malisa, we search for pieces created with care and intention - inspired by the gentle spirit of the Andes and the authenticity of slow, mindful craftsmanship.

Our Philosophy

Sustainability

Natural materials. Fair-trade craftsmanship. Gentle on our planet

Quality

Made to last, crafted with care.

Community

Empowering women, building brighter futures.

Heritage

Bringing a piece of Peru’s spirit to Europe.

Our Mission

At Intiwawa, we believe in creating with purpose and connection. We work hand in hand with Wawacha, a group of women artisans in Huaral, Peru, who hand-knit each piece using 100% natural cotton and organic colors drawn from the land around them. Their craft preserves ancient Andean traditions while providing fair work and independence for women. Together, we bring warmth, authenticity, and the spirit of Peru to families around the world — one stitch, one story, one smile at a time.
